Barbara Connelly was born August 31, 1931 to Alice and Martin Breidenbach in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Barbara loved to ski, skate, swim, and archery-from the back of a horse no less! She lived close enough to her loving Aunts and Grandparents that she grew up with them in her life.

Barbara attended school in Minnesota and graduated from Washburn High School. Barbara came out west to Boulder, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado. There she met her future husband, Joe Connelly. They moved to San Diego, California and returned to Boulder where they raised their family.

Barbara was very active in the community serving as a Precinct Chairwoman for many years. She helped on many different political campaigns for most of her life. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader. How many cases of cookies ended up in our living room? She also served on many different PTA's, and even started four different newsletters for schools in the Boulder Valley School District. The newsletters still exist today-online. She volunteered at Channel 6, and really loved the auctions, and brought home many treasures herself. She volunteered over 34,000 hours at Boulder Community Hospital earning her pin and jacket; where she did baby pictures and eventually was a volunteer in the Emergency room.

Barbara worked at Boulder High School as a nurse and also was the receptionist and an aide. She worked in the resource library and was a great asset to the school. She loved working with the students and after graduation kept in touch with many as they advanced in their respective careers.

After Barbara retired she traveled the world with her mother, and enjoyed family gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joe.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren. They are her daughter, C. C. Connelly of Boulder, CO. Her daughter, Sue Connelly and her husband Kim Knake, grandson Cimarron Knake, of Longmont CO. Her daughter, Kathleen Kaiser and her husband Scott Kaiser of Miles City MT, grandson Nathaniel Kaiser and wife Blake, grandson David Kaiser all living in Montana.

In lieu of flowers, cards would be wonderful. Donations can be made in her name to Boulder Community Hospital, or to your favorite charity.

Our family would like to thank all those who knew Barbara, or were touched by her great gift of generosity - teaching us all how to give! Her greatest JOY was in finding the perfect gift for the perfect person...
