Obituary for William Arnold "Bill" Johnson
William “Bill” Arnold Johnson passed away November 12, 2017 at his home in Longmont. He was 81 years old.
Bill was born on January 12, 1936 in Union County, SD on the family farm to William Bryan and Cleo Agnes (Peck) Johnson. He moved to California from 1945-1954, before returning to the family farm in 1955.
Bill served in the United States Army for three years from 1957 – 1960 in Arkansas, Texas and Germany; before being honorably discharged.
On July 27, 1957 he married Shirley Ann Jurgenson in Akron, Iowa; she preceded him in death on October 18, 1999.
Together they moved to Colorado where he went to work for the Public Service Company from May 7, 1963 until he retired in April of 1994. Bill then started his own company “Cozzz Furnace maintenance and repair”. He also had a windshield repair service from 1986 – 2006.
On April 18, 2002 he married Patricia Sue McGee.
Bill was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to all of the family events and supporting his grandkids.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley and his brother in law Pete Noyd.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Sue McGee; his three sons William Richard (Shawn) Johnson of Carrollton, TX, Jeffrey Scott (Sally) Johnson of Longmont, CO and Brent Joseph (Elizabeth) Johnson of Flippin, AR; his sister Janet Kaye Noyd; his stepchildren Brian K. (Sherryl) McGee and Tina Sue (Kelle) Ballard; his grandchildren Sarah (Matt) Gray, Marissa Johnson, Allison (Kyle) Schriver, Ashley Johnson, and Dylan Johnson; step grandchildren Shawnte (Chris), John Robert (Lisa) McGee, Kenne, Brennen, Trever, and Rebecka Joy Ballard; and his great-grandchildren Kylie, Brooklyn, Lucas, Ella and Cayden.
Visitation 4:00-6:00 PM Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Memorial service 10:00 AM Thursday November 16, 2017 at LifeBridge Christian Church. Private family burial at Green Mountain Cemetery. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
