Obituary for Roland A. Borgmann

Roland A. Borgmann, 86, passed away March 18, 2018 at Life Care Center of Longmont.

He was born December 21, 1931 in Lincoln, Nebraska the son of Matilda and Henry Borgmann. Roland came to Longmont, Colorado with his parents in 1946 and graduated from Longmont High School in 1950.

Roland entered the United States Army in 1951, was a sergeant in the Korean War and was honorably discharged Feb. 27, 1953.

He married Patricia Embree on September 23, 1956.

Roland worked for the Rocky Flats plant for thirty-seven years retiring in October of 1993. He had also been a dry land farmer south east of Fort Morgan, CO.

He was a charter member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Longmont, were he was active in the church serving in various offices. Roland was also a member of American Legion Post 32 in Longmont for 60 years.

Roland enjoyed the mountains, back packing, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Roland is survived by his wife Patricia, one sister Nelda Schneider of Longmont, one daughter Tammy Floyd and husband Larry of Broomfield, one son Kevin Borgmann and his wife Tracy of Broomfield, eight grandchildren Angela Barnhart (John), Matt Jon Wieber, Chelsea Ebert (Caleb), Josh Borgmann, Kayla Borgmann, Nick Floyd (Dawn), Mike Floyd (Chelsea) and Matt D. Floyd (Cammie), eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Viewing will immediately precede the service beginning at 9:00am. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Association or Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School.
