Condolence From: Chelsey Hoffman
Condolence: I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Colleen's family. I know she will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. I find great comfort in the hope for the future present in the bible. At Isaiah 25: 8, the Bible promises a time when God “will swallow up death forever.” Also, Acts 24:15 boldly states, "there is going to be a resurrection." The resurrection this verse talks about will give us the opportunity to see our lost loved ones again on Earth. I know it will be a joyous time when you can reunite with Colleen! I invite you to visit JW.ORG for more information on this comforting hope.

Condolence From: Kristin Ashbrook-Kovar
Condolence: Thoughts of healing and solace to all who are grieving the loss of this bright light in the world. I was fortunate enough to work with Colleen at Mesa Elementary as an Occupational Therapist for three years. My job is to support the teacher, so it was a pleasure to work with Colleen in the role of support, working in her light. Such a talented, loving, gifted, caring, patient teacher. So beloved. Her spirit will always with with us.

Condolence: We are still stunned at the loss our community is expecting with your passing. You touched so so many lives. When I told my husband Chase's 2nd grade teacher passed away he replied, "You mean the one we really liked." Thank you for the kindness and patience you showed each and every child that you came in contact with. Everyone that knew you became a better person. Thank you for being you.

Condolence From: Terri LeRose
Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. I met Colleen in a 3-year district training together. The first time I met her I was struck by how warm and genuine she was. We were playing a getting-to-know-you game and she shared how she liked to howl at the moon. I remember admiring her courage for sharing something personal with strangers. As I got to know her a bit better I was impressed with her hard work and dedication to her students. My thoughts are with your family.

Condolence: Sam and Grace, I am so sorry for your loss. I spent time with your mom through the technology cohort and loved every minute of it!! She was one of the most positive people I have ever met. And, to have such great kids, she must have been an awesome mom too!! I hope that your happy memories will help guide you through the toughest days ahead. Love to you both!!!

Condolence From: Addy and Hunter Castellano, and Dana Charatan
Condolence: Colleen Kanemoto was and Amazing person and a wonderful teacher. We have so many great memories from both our second grade classes. Addy and Hunter were both lucky enough to have Ms. Kanemoto as our teacher. She helped Addy and Hunter through very tough times. "Ms. Kanemoto helped me through the toughest time of my life (My parents divorce) and I know that she would not want us to be sad, but rather to celebrate her as the amazing person she was"- Addy Castellano "If it wasn't for Ms. Kanemoto I wouldn't know what to do right now. She was the best teacher in the whole wide world, and if I had all of the teachers in Mesa lined up I would most certainly pick her every time."-Hunter Castellano

Condolence From: Leslie-Ellen, Gus and Roman Blood
Condolence: Colleen was instrumental in my son's success at Mesa Elementary. We moved to Boulder in 2016 and Gus has just been through a very scary and hard year. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and went through a year of chemotherapy. Colleen made what could have been a very challenging transition year, smooth and fun for Gus. Colleen was funny, kind and really cared about her students. We were devastated to hear of her passing. She will be in our thoughts and we feel incredibly lucky to have been able to have her in our lives.
