Obituary for Carol M. Narvaes

Carol M. Narvaes
Carol Narvaes, our beloved wife, mother and Nana, passed peacefully from this life to her Heavenly Father on December 12, 2017, in Longmont. She was born December 15, 1942, the youngest of nine children, to Sylvan and Anna Pronschinske, in Arcadia, Wis. She was raised in a Wisconsin dairy farm family and attended grade school at St. Boniface in Waumandee and high school in Arcadia.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in music education from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wis., and her Master’s in education from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo. Over 35 years she taught elementary school music to thousands of students whom she loved. She maintained a high level of certification as a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and was passionately dedicated to its professional teaching strategies, movements and methods for music education.

She loved gardening, cooking and baking for her family. She also loved playing her Baby Grand piano and doting on her grandchildren. Her dream of moving closer to her family and grandchildren was fulfilled early this year and it made her very, very happy. She served her church and volunteered with Catholic Outreach for many years. Her hobby was embroidering tea towels to give as gifts. She loved Christmas and would listen to and play Christmas carols from the day after Halloween until January. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and would cheer for them even when they played the Denver Broncos.

She and her husband, George, who was the love of her life, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July 2017. She was overjoyed at seeing so many friends and family who came to share this anniversary celebration. She loved Colorado and going on one-day drives with George to local mountains, lakes and forests. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh at sitcoms and George’s jokes.

She is survived by her husband George; her daughter Emily and son-in-law Erik; her son Amory, daughter-in-law Anna and grandchildren Francesca, Catalina and Ceruleo, all of whom loved her deeply and cherish many happy memories. She will be greatly missed.

Her parents; her brothers, Richard, Victor, Sylvan, Alois, Urban and Tony; and her sisters, Antoinette and Cleo, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4:30-8:00pm, with a Rosary Prayer service at 7:00pm on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30am, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Cremation to follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, Carol’s wish is that you contribute to the American Heart Association. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
