Maria D. Castillo De Quiroz, 63, of Thornton, CO passed away December 2, 2017 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 18, 1954 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Nicholas and Rosa (Hernandez) Castillo. Maria married Ricardo Gonzalez and they were blessed with six children Eddie, Ricardo, Veronica, Doris, Gladys and Jessica. The family moved to the United States.

Maria spent her working career as a seasonal farm worker in California and Colorado.

She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.

Maria enjoyed sewing, making many dresses for her girls. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and in later years entertaining herself with her smart phone and tablets.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ricardo Gonzalez.

Maria is survived by her children Eddie Quiroz, Ricardo Quiroz, Veronica Quiroz, Doris Crespo, Gladys Quiroz and Jessica Quiroz, fourteen grandchildren Rosa, Ricardo, Justin, Andy, Anthony, Michael, Brittney, Iris, Mia, Jesus, Miguel, Diego and Rosie, one brother Jose Castillo and one sister Ofelia Castillo.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:30pm, with a Rosary Prayer service at 7:30pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Frederick, CO. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
