Kay Short, 77, passed away December 1, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital.

She was born March 5, 1940 in Minlo, Kansas to Roy Lee and Iva Esther (Duffey) Belew.

Kay grew up in Goodland Kansas and graduated from Goodland High School.

On August 22, 1961 she married Russell Wayne Short in Loveland, Colorado. She has made her home in Longmont for the past 45 years.

Kay was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, lovingly raising her four children. Over the years she worked some part time jobs which included at the Loaf and Ladle and as a crossing guard at Mountain View Elementary school.

Kay loved cats and dogs. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and traveling, especially long car rides in the mountains with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Kay is survived by four children Bryan Short (Heidi), Ron Short, Linda Kahn and Lora DeMartine (Dave); three grandchildren Joshua Benjamin Kahn, Shelby Lee Short and Taja Keyana Nichole Short and one brother Roy Warren Belew.
