Victor Conrad Barhite, 100, of Longmont passed away at his home November 11, 2017.
He was born November 23, 1916 in Alden, Iowa.
Victor served in the United States Army Pacific Theater in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on August 7, 1945.
He married Mary Jane Barr on September 4, 1954, in Mason City, Iowa. In their early years he farmed in Iowa. They moved to Colorado in 1961 and he was primarily self employed in the building trades and housing industries.
Victor enjoyed playing the banjo and listening to banjo music. He had a passion for RV travel, reading road maps and western stories.
Victor was preceded in death by his son, Randy Barhite and is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; daughter Nichole Jordan; his son-in-law; daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Additionally he is survived by numerous extended family members.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 with family present to greet friends. Interment at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
