William L. Ayland, Lieutenant Colonel United States Marine Corps Retired age 90, passed away Sept. 17, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born July 27, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Benjamin and Juanita (Wright) Williams.
William joined the Military in 1944 and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1972. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V. in addition he earned eighteen other medals, decorations and awards.
He is survived by his wife Susan L. Ayland of Longmont, his step son Jack Driscoll and daughter in law Carolyn Driscoll and two grandchildren Haley and Nathan Driscoll.
Burial and interment service will be 2 PM Thursday September 28, 2017 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Friends may gather at staging area A before 2 PM. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps. Share condolences at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
