Richard “Dick” E. Schlupp, 87, of Arvada passed away September 14, 2017 at his home.

He was born April 14, 1930 in Longmont, CO to Alex and Viola Schlupp and lived on a farm just east of town. He graduated from Longmont High School and attended college for two years at Colorado A & M (now Colorado State University).

Dick served in the United States Army on active duty for two years from February 16, 1953 to February 12, 1955. At that time he transferred to the US Army Reserves and was honorably discharged on February 15, 1961.

Following his honorable discharge Dick went to work at Rocky Flats in Golden, CO where he was a lab tech. He worked there 35 years from May 13, 1957 until his retirement on August 31, 1992.

Dick liked gardening and reading.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty Morgan.

Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years Judith, three children Brenda Snyder, Deo Schlupp and Dawn Self and her husband Wayne Self and his two grandsons Nick Snyder and Mathew Self.
