Catherine M. Holmes passed away September 14, 2017 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley. She was 86 years old.

Catherine was born on July 23, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Michael and Ida (Vovola) Russo. On June 7, 1952 she married Charles J. Holmes in Chicago. Together they moved to Longmont in 1976.

Catherine was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper at the University of Colorado. She was of the Catholic faith.

Catherine enjoyed reading, word search games, cooking pasta dinners on Sunday, playing Bingo at the Elks Lodge and going to Central City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles; and four siblings Rosemarie, Concetta (Terry), Michael and Phillip.

Catherine is survived by her daughters Tina Lott-Holmes (Roberta), Tammy Vulk (Michael), Tracy Bailey (Doug) and Terry Mathews (Lawrence); her grandchildren Matthew Longstreth, Tyler Colglazier, Cooper Vulk, Audrey Vulk, Calvin Bailey, Maggie Bailey, Zayda Mathews and Zoey Mathews; her great grandchildren Peyton Barnes and Pierce Longstreth and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing for Catherine will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM Monday September 18, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. Cremation will follow the viewing and no additional services will be held.
